Accusations of Public Corruption Can Be Federal Charge

According to authorities, the Medicaid fraud defendant asked for case assistance in exchange for the bribe.

These allegations by authorities derived from a joint investigation of the 60-year-old man that was conducted by the Texas Attorney General’s Office, the Texas Rangers, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Recently, the Texas Attorney General’s Office fired the 60-year-man from his analyst position. Soon after the firing, he was placed under arrest in relation to the above accusations. He is facing a federal charge of bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds. He could be given a fine of up to $250,000 and a prison sentence of up to 10 years if he is convicted of this charge.
